Successful planning and implementation of Mixing Line 3 for KRAIBURG
KRAIBURG rubber compounds is one of Germany’s most versatile manufacturers of customised rubber and silicone compounds. With the ambition to reliably produce even the most complex and high-quality compounds in the future, the vision of a modern and future-oriented mixing line within a highly compact footprint was created.
The vision
The aim of the project was to establish the foundation for long-term, high-performance production using state-of-the-art mixing technology. At the same time, the new plant was designed to provide maximum flexibility in order to meet even the most demanding customer requirements efficiently and reliably.
The mission
The project began with KRAIBURG presenting its plans to HF GROUP: the existing K5 mixer was to be replaced with a new high-performance IM 190E mixer.
A clear objective was at the centre of the project: a perfectly prepared 3D design, early feasibility verification and the minimisation of potential project risks — all with the goal of delivering the project on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
One particular challenge was the implementation within an existing brownfield environment.
The Implementation
From the early project stages, HF GROUP relied on tailor-made pre-engineering and state-of-the-art digital planning technologies.
Fast and efficient capture of the existing building using 3D-mobile-mapping-technology
3D visualisation of the plant, including verification of roof modifications, positioning of the IM190E mixer and auxiliary equipment, as well as modelling of the batch-off and the new cooling line
Close and trustful collaboration between the KRAIBURG project team and the Systems Engineering department of HF GROUP
Ordering of the mixer and parallel detail engineering
Detailed 3D engineering for mixer, hydraulics, temperature control units, piping layout and cable tray installation
Creation of a project schedule for the ongoing project execution
Continuous teamwork throughout the entire project
The result
Installation of the new IM190E mixer and the line components on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
