UMIX®-L – Universal mixer for laboratories and pilot plants

The UMIX®-L is the compact version of the universal mixer, specially developed for laboratories and pilot plants. With a working volume of 0.25 to 8 litres, it enables effective mixing and kneading for research and development purposes as well as small-batch production.

  • Compact construction: Space-saving design for use in laboratory environments. Standard features: Vacuum operation, UMIX®-L 2.5 S available with discharge screw

  • High flexibility: Quick changeover between different formulations and materials.

  • Simple operation: Intuitive control for efficient small-scale processes. Discharge of the compound by removing the trough from the drive unit (UMIX®-L 0.25 and 0.75) or by manually tilting the trough (UMIX®-L 1.0 and larger)

  • Service & spare parts: Spare parts and services such as inspections, commissioning and assembly are available for our own machines as well as for universal kneaders from the “Werner & Pfleiderer” brand and other brands.

Together we find a better way.

The best and most efficient rubber and plastics processing solutions.

All the facts about the UMIX® at a glance:
  1. Two mixing and kneading blades arranged in parallel

  2. Water or heat transfer oil temperature control of the mixing chamber

  3. Mixing chamber made of carbon or stainless steel (duplex steel on request), depending on the properties of the material being mixed

  4. Various blade geometries – tailored to your processes

  5. Optional: temperature-controlled blades for processing temperature-sensitive products (from UMIX® 80 upwards)

Key advantages of the UMIX® series

1. Versatile application

UMIX® universal mixers are suitable for a wide range of industries and their specific mixing processes, such as food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, as well as for PVC and silicone compounds. The range of compounds that can be produced reaches from low- to high-viscosity and from sticky to powdery/dust-dry.

2. Homogeneous mixing processes

Thanks to powerful drives and the optimised geometry of the mixing and kneading tools, combined with effective temperature control, the required homogeneity and quality of the compounds can be achieved in a short time. (This can be further improved by vacuum mixing)

3. Flexible plant design

The universal mixers can be individually integrated into existing production lines, including those with existing conveying systems – from laboratory scale to large-scale production.

4. Material compatibility

As standard, all components in contact with the product are made from high-quality, corrosion-resistant steel (1.4404 or equivalent).

5. Batch documentation

The ADVISE® control system developed by HF supports seamless process monitoring and logging for reliable quality control and traceability.

6. Maintenance-optimised original design

Thanks to the original WP design, mixers can be easily replaced or overhauled without having to completely rethink processes and recipes. This is particularly important for certified mixing processes: a new mixer can be manufactured with the exact same characteristics as the existing mixer.
